I was curious about how this relativley new collboration between Lloyd and Nelly would sound. I have a soft spot for both these artists and tend to be more partial when listening to their tracks and don't disregard them too quickly. This track, made my day!!! When I heard the song, this track was sampled on, it was enough to wake me out of my long, lazy blog-writing slumber!! These two heavyweight tracks don't dissapoint!!!! First of is 'Strange Clouds' which is the first single from B.o.B's second studio album..this one features (again) Lil Wayne. (He seems to be having a good run on his collaborations!) Here's a trailer for the new single.... Then Rihanna takes the Kelis route and tries out Calvin Harris on a track called 'We Found Love'. This one's gonna be all over the charts!!! Two great tunes on a Monday!!! It doesn't get better than that!

Speedy Singh

I think Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar have set Bollywood's newset trend of roping in international artists to make music for their movies. Akon's 'Chamak Challo' for Shah Rukh Khan's Ra One is a major thumbs down...but on the contrary Ludacris fares really well on 'Shera Di Kaum' with Akshay Kumar for his home production 'Speedy Singh'. The cast for the movie includes Rob Lowe, Camilla Belle and funnyman Russell Peters!! I've seen the promos and Russell Peters' is hilarious in this one!

Freedom

When you are the designer 'du jour', it's hard to go unnoticed and before long your signature style soon loses it's sheen.... I think that's going to be the case with Falguni and Shane Peacock....so with one look at the outfits for the new Sugababes single 'Freedom' and you know who designed the outfits.

I've been away...so I wasn't able to cover the last of August's new releases...the highly anticipated Jay-Z Kanye collaboration, 'Lift Off' was a bit of a let down. But I found that Lil Wayne and Drake's 'She Will' is a keeper. Keeping it similar, Lil Wayne also teamed up with Bruno Mars for 'Mirror' which is one of the three tracks off the deluxe edition of Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV, his ninth studio album. The first time I heard this one, two weeks ago...I thought it was alright but I listened to it again today...and it's been on replay!!!


David Guetta deviates a little on this tune to a more powerful, dance beat sound..which is awesome!!! He was kind of stuck in a beat rut I guess...

'Titanium' is the promotional single off David Guetta's fifth studio album titled 'Nothing But The Beat' and it features Australian pop singer Sia Furler.

I was so excited when I saw this track posted this morning...Timbaland Guetta and Pitbull...could it get any bigger or better!
So obviously it should make the 'If you aren't listening to it already....." cut but What a let down!!! It sounds like a badly edited mixtape!!!

Growing up me and most of the kids I grew up with could not get enough of Haddaway's What is Love..I still love to listen to it every now and then and reminisce!



But it has been 'covered' in more ways that one! The most popular being Eminem and Lil Wayne's 'No Love' which used a sample of this song.

I like Jason Derulo’s music, despite his high pitched ‘Jaaaason Derulooooo” at the beginning of his tracks. (Just in case you forgot that you were listening to Derulo, I guess)

Well that aside..the guy makes good music…that eventually make their way up the billboard charts.
He’s got moves…actual dance moves.
He has a thing for ‘Flashdance’….from re-mastering 'What a Feeling’ for his track’ Sky’s the Limit’ to the iconic track ‘Maniac’ with Auburn.
Keeping with the trend of sampling old school dance themes, ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ is a bit of the good ‘ol Banana Boat Song and a little ‘Show me Love' mixed by Steve Angello.



If the jacket at 1:17 in the video looks familiar….it’s because the Roksanda Ilincic original has already gotten the Vogue India cover in February '11 on Aishwarya Rai.

Snoop Dogg has his 11th studio album coming out and it's so aptly titled Doggumentary and the second official lead single from the album is the track 'Boom' featuring singer T-Pain. The song is sampled on the 1980's hit Situation by Yazoo.
I listened to it and the song's pretty good but I knew I had heard the sample from another recent track, so to avoid having the 'tune stuck in your head all night' scenario I got right down to it... I knew it was by a popular female artiste but surprise...surprise it turns out that the same sample was used on the track
'Body Language' by Heidi Montag of The Hills and silicones fiasco fame. She did perform it at the Miss Universe contest in probably 2009 and I think the sample was the only thing that saved that track!
